According to the similarity of the topics, the 11th International Conference on Energy, Environment and Resources (ICEER2026) and the 8th International Conference on Civil Engineering (ICCIVIL2026) were jointly held at the Qingdao Guokang Haiqing Hotel in Qingdao, China, from August 14 to 16, 2026. Experts and scholars from various universities and research institutions worldwide gathered to engage in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge issues in energy transition, environmental governance, resource recycling, and civil engineering innovation.
The conference featured keynote speeches delivered by Dr. Jidong Gu, Dr. Kung-Chung Hsu, Dr. Juncong Ge, and Dr. Zigeng Wang.
Dr. Jidong Gu (Professor, Environmental Engineering Department, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, China) addressed the green Anammox technology in wastewater treatment. Through metagenomic and metatranscriptomic analyses, he revealed the core mechanisms of microbial nitrogen removal in full-scale WWTPs, demonstrating the latest breakthroughs in efficient nitrogen removal using the Anammox process.

Dr. Juncong Ge (Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Design Engineering, Jeonbuk National University, South Korea) focused on renewable alcohol fuels for sustainable diesel power. He proposed a practical ultrasonic homogenization strategy for fuel preparation without engine modification, effectively improving the stability and combustion efficiency of ethanol-diesel and isopropanol-diesel blends, offering a viable pathway for diesel engine decarbonization.

Dr. Zigeng Wang (Associate Professor, College of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Beijing University of Technology, China) presented a performance study on low-carbon, fireproof magnesium oxysulfate cement. He proposed a novel method for in-situ preparation of MgSO₄ solutions using brucite through direct reaction with dilute sulfuric acid or sulfate salts, systematically analyzing its effects on flowability, setting time, strength, fire resistance, and lifecycle carbon emissions.
